Biography

Chigbu studied in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and Germany. He joined the Department of Land and Spatial Sciences in 2020 as an Associate Professor in Land Administration. His teaching, community services and research focus on innovating societal challenges and solutions using land-based approaches. He is an Associate Editor, Journal Land Use Policy (Elsevier), and Section Editor of the Journal, Local Development & Society (Routledge).Prof Chigbu is a social geodesist. He investigates societal challenges and solutions using land-based approaches. His research and practice hinge around land administration and land management themes: including land-use planning, land and natural resource tenure, land policy and governance, and actions for transformations in urban, peri-urban and rural settlements.
