Jacques obtained his Master Degree in Town and Regional Planning at the University of the Free State in South Africa in 1994. He joined the Department of Land Management in 2009 as Senior Lecturer, heading the Land Use Planning Section from 2009-14. Jacques has been the Deputy Head of the Department since 2015 when the Land Use Planning Section merged with the Department of Architecture to form the Department of Architecture and Spatial Planning.
